Job Summary

The Scientist I will initiate, direct and execute scientific studies to support the INTERCEPT Blood System for RBCs and optimize cellular, metabolic and functional assays while implementing workflow improvements.
The role involves independent design and analysis of experiments, maintaining professional expertise through scientific literature and meetings, and contributing to scientific publications and presentations.

Must-have
Design and analyze scientific experiments
Develop and validate analytical methods
Maintain laboratory notebooks and records
Proficient in scientific report writing
Familiarity with GLP/GMP regulations
Experience with cellular metabolic assays
Nice-to-have
Experience working with human blood products
Working knowledge of blood bank practices
Creativity in developing new methodologies
Presentation at scientific conferences
Supervise and mentor laboratory personnel
Key Requirements
Ph.D. in biology-related discipline with 2 years experience or MS/MA with 8 years or BA/BS with 11 years experience
Experience in industry preferred
Familiarity with GLP/GMP regulations and record keeping
Proficient in writing reports and publications
Experience with cellular metabolic and biophysical assays
Excellent mathematical and problem solving skills
Solid experience with scientific and graphing software
