Job Summary

• The Microbiology laboratory encompasses specimen collection, processing and testing within the Department of Clinical Laboratories, offering full service testing in bacteriology, mycology, mycobacteriology, virology, parasitology, smear interpretation and molecular testing.
• This Lead Medical Technologist directs the daily operations of the Microbiology area and provides leadership, performing specialized laboratory procedures including interpretation of smears and cultures, and identification and susceptibility tests.
• Administrative duties will include personnel evaluations for selected individuals, technical procedure writing/implementation, assisting with scheduling, training, and record keeping under the direction of division director(s) and lab manager.
