Job Summary

  • This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit focused on designing, developing, manufacturing, and testing engines and propulsion systems for the next generation of rockets.
  • As a single-threaded leader, you will manage project execution, drive cost-effective delivery, oversee risk identification, and communicate issues to leadership while ensuring technical quality.
  • The position includes full people management responsibilities such as hiring, developing, coaching talent, and fostering a positive, productive team culture aligned with HR policies.

Salary

Base: $197,004.00 - $275,805.60 (WA applicants); Bonus/Equity: Eligible based on contributions and company results; Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match up to 5%, paid parental leave, PTO

Skills & Requirements

Must-have

  • Leading teams delivering safety critical embedded software
  • 8+ years experience in avionics and embedded software
  • 3+ years project management and management experience
  • B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Managing complex interdisciplinary tasks and technical direction

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with Agile and IMP-level scheduling processes
  • Familiarity with industry-leading software development tools
  • Hands-on experience with embedded software development lifecycle
  • Proven ability to develop software architecture roadmaps
  • Experience planning and executing test programs for software systems

Key Requirements

  • Minimum B.S. in Engineering or significant equivalent experience
  • 8+ years relevant engineering field experience
  • 3+ years project management or management experience
  • Must be U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or refugee/asylee
