Job Summary

  • The Fire Occupational Health & Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive occupational health and safety programs for the Fire Department.
  • The position oversees occupational health and safety, assists in safety investigations, develops safety policies, issues bulletins, and serves as the department’s liaison with external occupational health agencies.
  • Work is performed independently under the direction of the Fire Chief and Deputy Chief and is reviewed through reports and results achieved.

Key Requirements

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
  • Florida Health and Safety Officer (OHS) preferred
  • Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) preferred
  • Occupational Health and Safety Trainer (OHST) preferred
  • Training in OSHA Standards (29 CFR 1910.156) preferred
