Job Summary

  • Partner with the facility HSS manager and/or Superintendent to develop action items to resolve regulatory concerns and provide daily support of safety and occupational health programs.
  • Proactively evaluate and control site H&S risks by leading the facility’s execution of compliance assurance processes, including conducting, documenting, and following up on site H&S-related incident investigations.

Key Requirements

  • 5 years related experience as a safety professional in an industrial/mining environment OR Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of related experience (Safety Specialist II)
  • 3 years of relevant experience (Bachelor's) OR 7 years relevant experience (High School) (Safety Specialist III)
  • 5 years’ experience as a safety professional in an industrial/mining environment (Bachelor's) OR 9 years relevant experience (High School) (Senior Safety Specialist)
  • Working knowledge of safety and occupational health regulations
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable safety regulatory framework (OSHA, MSHA)
  • Expert knowledge of applicable safety regulatory framework (OSHA, MSHA)
  • Professional designation such as CSP or similar accredited certification is required (Senior)
