Job Summary

  • The Director of Operations will provide leadership and operational management for the Arkansas Food Innovation Center at the Market Center of the Ozarks (AFIC@MCO).
  • The Director will oversee the day-to-day management of all AFIC@MCO activities, including operations, budget administration, facilities management, and personnel supervision.
  • The center connects farmers and food entrepreneurs to infrastructure, education, and technical assistance and increase food security across the region.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM, business, or related
  • Minimum 10 years professional experience
  • At least 4 years supervisory/managerial role
  • Degree in Food Science or related field (preferred)
  • MBA or M.S. in Operations Management (preferred)
  • Experience in food industry R&D, QC, processing/manufacturing (preferred)
  • Experience in entrepreneurship/startup support (preferred)
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience
  • Experience in product and process development
  • Demonstrated success in grant writing
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven ability to build partnerships
