The Patient Care Assistant is an unlicensed staff member accountable to the RN for completing delegated tasks with caring and culturally sensitive manner.
Responsibilities include performing basic nursing skills such as vital signs, finger stick blood glucose, ADLs, and collecting various specimens while documenting all tasks in O2.
The role requires maintaining a safe patient environment through high fall risk interventions, hourly rounds, and promptly notifying the RN of any changes in patient condition.
