Job Summary

  • This position is responsible for leading, planning, and implementing the preventive maintenance, inspection, and repair of School bus, light duty vehicles, and Support equipment.
  • Manage the Inspection (DOT, emissions, etc.) process in accordance with applicable State and Federal policies and regulations.
  • Control maintenance costs relating to personnel, purchasing, inventory control and outsourcing of repairs.

Key Requirements

  • 6 years of experience in heavy or light vehicle maintenance
  • 5 years of experience managing a large work group
  • Vocational training in automotive technology or equivalent
  • ASE Master Automotive, Medium or Heavy Truck and Master Automobile certifications preferred
  • Prior experience in supervising, directing, and/or training employees is preferred
  • Prior experience with Fleet Management Information systems (FMIS)
  • Advanced PC Skills - MS Office with an emphasis on Excel
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
