Job Summary
The Veterinary Resident will provide comprehensive clinical care to all animals maintained by Vanderbilt University while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
This role involves active participation in the protocol review process, serving as a voting member of the review committee, and assisting investigators with veterinary portions of IACUC protocols.
Candidates are expected to conduct a mentored research project, develop a publication, and deliver hands-on training to both PI personnel and animal care staff.

Skills & Requirements
Must-have
Clinical veterinary care for research animals
Daily veterinary rounds in animal facilities
Protocol review and IACUC compliance monitoring
Necropsy performance including gross examination
Training delivery for research personnel
Nice-to-have
Strong collaboration with Principal Investigators
Commitment to continuous improvement
Ability to develop formal training materials
Experience with regulatory agency inspections
Key Requirements
Pass North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE)
Graduate from an AVMA-accredited institution
EGFVG certificate or PAVE completion if non-AVMA graduate
