The APP acts as the responding clinician providing direct care to individuals and families in the inpatient surgical settings in the peri-operative period.
The APP is an integral member of the surgical team who is responsible for patient care including obtaining patient histories and physical exams, coordinating testing and consultations, ordering and implementing treatment plans formulated on morning rounds.
The NP plays a significant role in providing quality of care and continuity resulting in optimal and efficient healthcare delivery for patients and their families.
