Job Summary

  • Performs a variety of routine and specialized medical laboratory diagnostic tests, procedures, experiments and analyses on blood and body fluid specimens for the purpose of providing laboratory data for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease.
  • Assists the Section Supervisor in the evaluation of new procedures, installation of new instrumentation, and training on new or modified instrumentation or equipment.
  • The employee is regularly exposed to bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids, and frequently exposed to electrical hazards, moving mechanical parts, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
