Job Summary

  • Work closely with the Shipfitter Superintendent to provide support in the overall management of the Shipfitting Department.
  • Provide technical assistance and oversee the workforce in the Shipfitting Dept., inspecting installations for conformance with specifications.
  • Directly and/or indirectly supervise employees assigned to the Shipfitting Dept., including interviewing, hiring, and training.

Key Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalence
  • Three to five years' previous shipyard experience
  • Three to five years' supervisory experience desired

  • Knowledge of ship terminology
