Job Summary

  • Academic Advisors are responsible for developing, providing, evaluating and assessing academic advising services, programs and projects for the Faculty of Arts in order to support the academic success, personal development and retention of approximately 13,000 Aboriginal, domestic and international students.
  • Advisors build holistic relationships with students, making connections between academic planning, career aspirations, and physical and mental health, and identify students at risk or in crisis.
  • Advisors support student development outside of the individual advising relationship by evaluating and making strategic recommendations for areas of potential improvement and growth in student advising services and developing programs and policies.
