The NC Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Chief Probation/Parole Officer (CPPO) for Carteret County, responsible for supervising staff and managing the workflow of probation and parole services. Job Summary
The Chief Probation/Parole Officer (CPPO) supervises Probation/Parole Officers, Judicial Services Coordinators, and clerical staff in the unit, coordinating and managing the unit’s workflow to ensure the effective implementation of Community Supervision goals and strategies.
The CPPO frequently engages in crisis interventions and meets with stakeholders, requiring a flexible schedule that includes regular 8-5 hours and the need to be available 24/7 for emergency calls.
The CPPO must possess the skills necessary to qualify annually with a firearm and unarmed self-defense, complete CPR annually, and be indirectly exposed to O.C. Pepper Spray as part of a training exercise.
