The role requires planning, developing, and directing the facility's infection control program in accordance with current rules and regulations.
The incumbent must ensure all personnel follow standard operating procedures for tasks involving exposure to blood and body fluids.
Responsibilities include monitoring infection control practices, conducting rounds for case findings, and preparing monthly summaries of resident and personnel infections.

Skills & Requirements
Must-have
Current active RN license required
2+ years long-term care experience
Knowledge of epidemiology and microbiology
Expertise in aseptic technique and universal precautions
Ability to interpret CDC and OSHA regulations
Experience with bloodborne pathogen protocols
Nice-to-have
APIC Certification in infection control preferred
PCC knowledge preferred
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Experience with TB management programs
Ability to work under mental and physical stress
Key Requirements
Registered Nurse (RN) license
2 years or more experience in long term care
CPR certification
Working knowledge of infectious diseases
Maintain good standing with State Board of Nursing
