Job Summary

  • The North Carolina Department of Labor is charged by statute with promoting the health, safety and general well-being of the workers in the state.
  • Travel is necessary to make on-site inspections of health-related items such as chemical exposures, physical hazards and biological hazards.
  • All inspections are conducted in accordance with the North Carolina Field Information System (FIS) and the Field Operations Manual (FOM) as established for administration of the 1973 Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina.
