Job Summary

  • Maintain public compliance of municipal and provincial regulations through education and enforcement.
  • Receive, investigate and document complaints with respect to contraventions of the Dog Owner’s Liability Act and Municipal Bylaws.
  • Due to operational requirements, the incumbent must be available to work nights, afternoons and weekends.

Key Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Police Foundations, Law and Security, Investigative Studies or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in law enforcement
  • Ability to research and interpret municipal by-laws and provincial statutes
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
  • Valid class G driver’s license with acceptable driver’s abstract
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • OAPSO (Ontario Association of Property Standards Officers) certification
  • MLEO (Municipal Law Enforcement Officers) certification
