Advocate Condell Medical Center is seeking a full-time Sterile Processing Technician for the PM shift, responsible for the decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills and the ability to work under time constraints, with a preference for candidates who have prior experience or are Certified Central Service Technicians

Job Summary

  • Demonstrates independent function in ensuring that soiled instrumentation or equipment delivered to the department is decontaminated in a manner that prevents cross-contamination.
  • Demonstrates independent function in ensuring a sterile product by professional assembly of surgical items, instrument sets, floor trays, and appropriate packaging in preparation for terminal sterilization.
  • Demonstrates independent function in ensuring that sterility is achieved utilizing the appropriate sterilization process.
