Job Summary

  • In this role, the qualified person will plan, organize, inspire, and conduct the HSB for various SCSU athletic events throughout the fall and spring semesters each academic year, as well as fulfill administrative needs for the ensemble and its activities.
  • The position requires coordination with the Athletic Department, managing and maintaining instrument inventory, and the supervision and mentorship of student leadership in HSB.

Key Requirements

  • Master’s degree in music or music education
  • Basic conducting skills
  • Experience directing large ensembles including athletic bands
  • 3 years of teaching high school or at the college-level
  • Knowledge or willingness to work with Athletics
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Evidence of ability to teach and work with diverse backgrounds
  • DA, DMA or PhD (Preferred)
  • Previous College/University teaching experience (Preferred)
  • Eligible to work in the United States
