  • The Referral Coordinator is responsible for daily centralized scheduling activities, including administrative requirements needed to obtain pre-authorization for medical specialty visits, customer service, patient scheduling, telephone triage, fielding patient referral and billing questions, filing, faxing, sending medical records, and timely and accurate data entry.
  • The Referral Coordinator acts as a liaison between the referring physician, technical staff, patient, and insurance companies, and verifies that the exam being requested is appropriate for the diagnosis code identified.

Key Requirements

  • High school diploma/equivalent
  • Clinical medical experience or prior training/education in medical terminology
  • Two years’ experience in a medical facility
  • Two years’ experience with preauthorization or insurance verification
  • Experience with CPT and ICD-10 coding preferred
  • Experience with Epic EMR preferred
