The Supervisor of Special Events at Sesame Place is responsible for managing the technical execution of entertainment events, overseeing teams, and ensuring safety and quality standards. The role requires strong supervisory and communication skills, as well as experience in technical theatre and budget management

Job Summary

  • The Full-Time Supervisor, Special Events (Install Leader) is responsible for the technical execution and operation of the Entertainment product based on the Technical Area’s strategic plan, operational processes, and financial target.
  • Manages research, development and execution of all Theatrical Services Special Events, including exterior and interior scenic/lighting/rigging installations/strike.
  • Candidates with proven supervisory skills, strong communication skills, and experience with heavy equipment including Forklifts, Scissor and Boom Lifts will be considered.

Key Requirements

  • Associates or BA in Technical Theatre, Theatre Arts, Technical Design, or equivalent professional experience
  • 2 years professional supervisory experience preferred
  • 1 year experience supervising execution of a budget preferred
  • 2 years professional technical entertainment experience preferred
  • 2 years professional theatrical technical work experience preferred
  • VA Driver’s License
  • Required Experience with Heavy equipment including Forklifts, Scissor and Boom Lifts
  • Required Experience with Heights to over 100 feet
  • Required Experience to Lift and move 75 pounds
  • OSHA, NEC, NFPA and IBC familiarity
