The position is responsible for coding medical records and other documents at the conclusion of the patient’s visit.
Codes are selected in the Computer Assisted Coding/Encoder Software following review of information in the electronic medical record system, IHIS.
This staff member will maintain productivity and quality standards set for the department maintain an approved work schedule and submit a weekly volume log.

Must-have
ICD-10-CM/PCS diagnosis and procedure codes
CPT-4 procedure codes
Computer Assisted Coding/Encoder Software
Electronic medical record system (IHIS)
IHIS Resolute Billing system
Maintain productivity and quality standards
Nice-to-have
Familiarity with automated encoder
Review Coding Clinics and CPT assistant
Attend monthly coding meetings and education sessions
Key Requirements
CAHIIM approved coding certificate program or HIMT program or equivalent education & experience
Associate’s Degree in Health Information Management
1 year outpatient coding experience (ICD10CM and CPT)
