The successful candidate will lead Zendesk's transition into an AI-first operating model where data engineering and science are practiced at the frontier of AI capabilities.
As a Principal Data Engineer, you will remain hands-on with production code in Snowflake, dbt, and Airflow while setting the bar for quality that ships to external customers.

Skills & Requirements
Must-have
10+ years large-scale data engineering experience
Deep hands-on Snowflake architecture expertise
Production fluency with dbt and Airflow
Strong SQL and Python programming skills
Experience leading technical design reviews
Nice-to-have
Experience migrating to cloud-native OLAP platforms
Familiarity with event-driven architectures like Kafka
Background in embedded customer-facing analytics
Knowledge of Lean / 6 Sigma principles
Contributions to data platform communities
Key Requirements
10+ years in large-scale data engineering
3+ years at principal or staff level
SnowPro Core certification preferred
Advanced Snowflake features knowledge (Snowpark, Cortex)
