Job Summary
You will be responsible for defining and evolving the networking architecture for ABB’s Distributed Control System (DCS) platform that leverages modern cloud native technologies such as containerization, Kubernetes based orchestration, and distributed software patterns.
The role spans both IT style software defined networking and OT industrial networking across the entire communication stack, ensuring robustness, security, and determinism aligned with industrial automation requirements.
You will collaborate with system architects and Product Management to consolidate networking requirements, manage the architectural backlog, and evaluate design options based on business value and product roadmap alignment.

Key Requirements
Master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
10+ years of experience in networking architecture, distributed systems, and platform engineering
Strong expertise in IT/OT networking technologies
Robust understanding of Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) and redundancy protocols (PRP)
Solid grounding in OT/IT cybersecurity and industrial zoning
Proficiency in container technologies and distributed/microservices-based architectures
