Job Summary

  • This role offers hands-on exposure to integrating sensors, GPS receivers, and cloud-based ecosystems into rugged machine solutions.
  • Interns will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary senior team across the project lifecycle to design future machine guidance systems.
  • The position includes a 12-week paid internship with a mentor, test site visits, and access to Trimble's onsite gym and social club.

Skills & Requirements

Must-have

  • Currently pursuing Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering degree
  • Exceptional diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
  • Strong communication skills for international teams
  • Foundational understanding of electrical and mechanical interfaces
  • Must be legally authorised to work in New Zealand

Nice-to-have

  • Familiarity with heavy construction machinery like dozers
  • Basic knowledge of API integration and cloud ecosystems
  • Experience with ruggedized hardware and weather-proofing
  • Proactive mindset toward improving end-user experience
  • Interest in Rust, Python, or Software Engineering

Key Requirements

  • Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
