An Apprentice Mechanic works under the direction of a Journeyman Mechanic and/or Maintenance Supervisor, performing mechanical duties and attending apprenticeship training classes.
The role requires working both inside and outside in all temperatures, responding to emergency callouts 24/7, and following all safety and environmental guidelines.

Safe mechanical maintenance procedures
Use of hand and shop tools
Work in power plant environment
Operate oxygen and acetylene torches
Climb ladders and work at heights
Respond to emergency callouts

Basic mechanical aptitude
Ability to communicate equipment status
Use of personal computer software
Collaborate with other crafts or contractors
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical failures
Key Requirements
High school diploma or GED
2 years industrial or military maintenance mechanic experience
Valid Driver’s License
Ability to work irregular or rotating shifts
Must live within reasonable commuting distance of Jewett, TX
