The Deputy Fire Chief is responsible for administering, planning, and directing the local service area fire department including fire suppression and rescue activities.
This role requires developing and maintaining an annual budget and capital plan while ensuring all members have appropriate training consistent with procedures.
The incumbent must be prepared to respond to emergencies on-call, participate in duty rotations, and assume command functions when required.

NFPA Fire Officer certifications
