Job Summary
Calm distressed citizens and defuse critical situations on the phone to collect, evaluate, and prioritize incoming information from callers.
Operates radio console consisting of several talk groups and independently initiating action consistent with existing policies and procedures, based upon observed situations, and using sound judgment.
This position involves being stationary at a communications console for extended lengths of time with continual use of a computer keyboard and other peripheral devices.

Key Requirements
High School Diploma/GED
18 years of age or older
2 years customer service experience
Good computer skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Pass Criticall candidate test
Data-entry/dispatch simulation score of 3014 or higher
Typing speed of 35 wpm
Good interpersonal skills
Maintain emotional control under stress
Work in fast-paced high-intensity environment
Work in close proximity with others
Work any shift including nights weekends holidays
Auditory acuity
Obtain TCOLE Basic Telecommunicator certification within a year
