Key Requirements

• Certified or licensed paramedic
• Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) or National Registry
• At least eighteen (18) years of age
• Not be forty-five (45) years of age or older at time of hire
• Graduate of an accredited high school or GED
• Read, write, and speak English
• Valid Texas driver’s license
• Legally eligible to work within the United States
• Minimum passing score of seventy (70) percent on written examination
• Pass background investigation
• Successfully complete physical ability test
• Pass oral interviews
• Obtain required certifications
• Successfully complete post-job offer drug screen
• Successfully complete psychological examination
• Successfully complete medical examination
• Pass visual acuity test
• Physician certification of no illegal drug use
