Job Summary
The Director of Nursing (DON) is a registered nurse responsible for the overall management of the entire nursing department, including staffing levels, policy development, and ensuring resident safety and respect.
Key duties include developing and conducting in-services, recruiting and training nursing staff, coordinating pharmacy services, and acting as a liaison between the facility, physicians, and family members.
The role requires participation in QA, Utilization Review, Patient Care conferences, state surveys, MDS coordination, and providing direct resident care as needed.
