Job Summary
This role supports the development of Additive Manufacturing and Composite materials for Rocket Lab's Neutron vehicle and Archimedes engines.
The technician is responsible for preparing, testing, evaluating, and certifying all metallurgical tests required per internal production and customer specifications.

Operating Instron tensile frames at cryogenic temperatures
Metallography testing including grind polish mount microscopy
XRF SEM analysis and hardness testing
Precision measuring with gages calipers micrometers
Working knowledge of Ni Cu and Ti alloys
Experience testing carbon composite materials
Nice-to-have
Tensile testing of metallic and composite materials
Test coupons preparation cutting mounting polishing etching
Macro and Micro Hardness Testing experience
Optical Microscopy proficiency
Round Robin Test experience
Knowledge of NADCAP requirements
Strong interpersonal and organizational communication skills
Key Requirements
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
2+ years of metallurgical lab experience
Familiarity with drawings and testing specifications
Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted
Must be able to climb ladders and work in tight spaces
