  • This role supports the development of Additive Manufacturing and Composite materials for Rocket Lab's Neutron vehicle and Archimedes engines.
  • The technician is responsible for preparing, testing, evaluating, and certifying all metallurgical tests required per internal production and customer specifications.

  • Operating Instron tensile frames at cryogenic temperatures
  • Metallography testing including grind polish mount microscopy
  • XRF SEM analysis and hardness testing
  • Precision measuring with gages calipers micrometers
  • Working knowledge of Ni Cu and Ti alloys
  • Experience testing carbon composite materials

Nice-to-have

  • Tensile testing of metallic and composite materials
  • Test coupons preparation cutting mounting polishing etching
  • Macro and Micro Hardness Testing experience
  • Optical Microscopy proficiency
  • Round Robin Test experience
  • Knowledge of NADCAP requirements

Key Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 2+ years of metallurgical lab experience
  • Familiarity with drawings and testing specifications
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work in tight spaces
