The Lead Data Engineer is a senior technical leadership role responsible for the design, build, operation, and modernisation of enterprise‑grade data platforms, pipelines, and data‑enabled applications within the CIB Client Management environment.
The role provides hands‑on technical leadership across the full software and data engineering lifecycle, ensuring delivery of scalable, secure, reliable, and well‑governed data solutions that support analytics, reporting, operational MI, and machine‑learning use cases.
Mentor and coach data and software engineers through design sessions and technical reviews, pairing and hands‑on guidance, and constructive feedback and skills development.

Key Requirements
8+ years experience in data engineering, software engineering, or platform engineering
Strong hands-on experience with SQL
Strong hands-on experience with Python, Java, Scala, JavaScript, or C#
Proven experience leading technical designs, code reviews, and engineering best practices
Solid understanding of Object-oriented design
Solid understanding of Distributed systems concepts
Solid understanding of REST APIs and integration patterns
Experience working as an agile practitioner within modern delivery frameworks
Relevant Diploma or B-Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
