Job Summary

  • The Senior Systems Engineer will be a key contributor to the installation, configuration, maintenance and support of a secure high-availability Windows & Linux based server & network infrastructure in both software development and data center production environments.
  • This position supports data center operations, provides limited desktop support, and requires physical onsite availability within a 30 mile radius of Waltham MA or Sterling VA.

Skills & Requirements

Must-have

  • Windows and Linux server administration
  • Active Directory domain management
  • Data center networking and cabling
  • Firmware, OS, and hardware upgrades
  • PowerShell and BASH scripting proficiency
  • TCP/IP network protocols knowledge

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with Linux KVM virtualization
  • Knowledge of Cisco firewall and F5 Load balancer
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
  • Teamwork and independent responsibility handling

Key Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 4-5 years relevant Windows and Linux experience
  • Knowledge of DHCP, DNS, SMTP, VPN protocols
  • Experience with Datacenter storage technologies
  • Experience with server and storage hardware troubleshooting
  • Experience administering Active Directory and terminal services
  • Domestic travel <10%
  • Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 50 lbs
