Job Summary

  • The Department of Emergency Medical Services Emergency Medical Technician (DEMS/EMT) provides prehospital care and/or transport to individuals of sudden illness or injury in the designated service and hospitals areas of the DEMS system.
  • The EMT demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients of all ages, inclusive of neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
  • The EMT shall ensure completion of Physician certification statements, Medical Necessity forms, and all billing and transport documentation as needed.
