  • The Managing Consultant facilitates accurate documentation for severity of illness (SOI) and quality in the medical record, which involves extensive record review and interaction with physicians, health information management professionals, coding professionals, and nursing staff.

Key Requirements

  • 4-8 years of CDI specialist/coder/consultant experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (RN, BSN, RHIA, RHIT, HIM)
  • Prior consulting experience highly preferred
  • Academic medical center exposure strongly preferred
  • Prior inpatient coding experience
  • Current CCDS, CCS, or CDIP certification required
  • RHIA, RHIT, CRC, CPC credentials highly preferred
  • Experience using EMRs (Epic, Meditech, Cerner, 3M 360)
