Job Summary
The Oiler stands engine watch as instructed by the Staff Chief Engineer and Engineer of the Watch, maintaining an efficient and alert watch in the engine room during assigned periods.
During watch duty, the Oiler continuously supervises Machinery Spaces and promptly reports malfunctioning and abnormal conditions to the Engineer of the Watch.
The Oiler assists with general maintenance of the ship including cleaning, painting, and repairs, and promptly reports and controls any spillage or cause of pollution.
