Job Summary
As a Research and Experimental Mechanic at Caterpillar Inc., you will continuously improve process efficiency by performing the assembling, fitting, and adjusting and/or dismantling required in the construction or disassembly of experimental engines.
Individuals will work on experimental, pre-production, postproduction and legacy engines that range in size from 4.0 L to 340 L.
All tools required to perform tasks in your job role will be provided by Caterpillar.

fitting for cooling, air, hydraulic connections, and wiring harnesses
installing test leads, thermocouples, cylinder pressure pick-up gauges
adjustments on valve train, gear train, fuel system, cooling system, oil system
fabrication of intake and exhaust piping
use precision gauging tools
use common mechanic's hand tools, portable power tools

Key Requirements
Minimum 3-5 years full time working experience in diesel engine service and repair industry
OR 2 year technical degree within diesel power technology, Industrial Engine Power Technology, or Caterpillar Dealer Service Technology
