Job Summary

  • Responsible for accurately and timely accessioning and tracking, processing, and testing all types of surgical, cytological and autopsy tissues and fluids.
  • Demonstrates the histotechnological, general laboratory and computer skills required in the anatomical pathology laboratory; may include microtomy skills, routine special and histochemical stains, continuing education of self and peers, and quality control and assisting in the advancement of new technology.
  • Participates in continuous improvement programs within the department including participating in quality assurance, continuing education programs, department meetings, and special projects as assigned.
