State Street Corporation is seeking a senior Software Engineer for their Burlington, Massachusetts location to lead the development of applications for data synthesis in trading and risk management. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in fault-tolerant architecture, Agile methodologies, and big data technologies, while being available for on-call support as needed

Job Summary

  • Will lead a team of geographically distributed developers to deliver solutions to State Street business problems in the risk domain, and is expected to be “on-call” 24/7 to be an escalation contact if there are production failures.
  • Performing hands-on proof-of concept development with Big-Data technologies, specifically in the areas of statistical processing of large volume numeric data, in-memory aggregation, and machine learning.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 5 years of experience
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing fault tolerant architectures
  • Demonstrated experience in Agile development methodology and scrum master skills
  • Proven knowledge of Proof-of-concept development in Big-Data areas
  • Demonstrated experience understanding existing systems for business objectives
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing large volume data processing frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience in advanced database programming
  • Proven knowledge of databases, ETL, J2EE, JMS, service-based design concepts, UNIX, architecture of large scale systems and matrix management
