Job Summary
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) supports refugee and immigrant youth through a six-week Newcomer Youth Summer Academy to help them succeed in the New York City public school system.
Peer Mentors assist classroom teachers by supporting students’ academic and social emotional growth, supervising field trips, and fostering an inclusive and trauma-informed learning environment.
All Peer Mentors must complete staff training, attend the full program in-person in New York City, and adhere to IRC’s professional standards and policies.
