Key Requirements

  • High school diploma / GED
  • Two years certified law enforcement experience
  • Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and training certificate
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Valid Arkansas Driver’s license
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to prepare and write police reports
  • Ability to communicate and maintain rapport
  • Ability to engage and maintain control
  • Knowledge of law enforcement practices
  • Knowledge of law enforcement traffic and criminal laws
  • Ability to enforce parking regulations
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles
  • Skill in firearms operations
  • Ability to walk 8 to 12 miles in a 12-hour shift
  • Ability to climb stairwells
  • Five years law enforcement experience preferred
  • Prior investigative experience preferred
