Job Summary

• Positions in Senior Assistant Resident Engineer classification are responsible for day-to-day activities of contract administration of major construction projects to ensure timely delivery and budget compliance and supervision of employees engaged in the inspection of these projects.
• The position will assist in the management and oversight of NCDOT and Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) personnel for surveying, project inspection, and various contract administration duties to ensure compliance with the Department’s specifications, standards, guidelines, and policies.
• The position requires proficiency in plan reading, highway engineering calculations, problem solving, and some personnel management.
