Job Summary

  • Under supervision, assists in operations, including setting up the operating room, preparing and transporting patients, adjusting lights and equipment, passing instruments, holding retractors, cutting sutures, and helping count supplies and instruments.
  • Participates as an active member of the Patient Care Team, monitors operating room conditions, and prepares patients for surgery by positioning them and covering them with sterile drapes.

Key Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) preferred
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
  • 2-3 years acute care surgical technologist experience
  • 4 years acute care surgical technologist experience preferred
  • committee and leadership experience 3-5 years preferred
