Skills & Requirements

Must-have

  • 3 years acute care inpatient coding experience
  • Proficiency with encoder software applications
  • Knowledge of ICD-CM and ICD-PCS guidelines
  • Ability to assign MS-DRG and APR DRG codes
  • Understanding of POA, SOI, ROM indicators

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with Computer Assisted Coding (CAC)
  • Familiarity with Epic or Cerner EMR systems
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently in virtual environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Key Requirements

  • Current permanent U.S. Work Authorization required
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC)
  • Three years of current acute care or Inpatient coding experience
  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferred
