Job Summary

  • The Lead Field Engineer will provide technical leadership and front-line supervision for the successful execution of complex projects and activities involving BWR and PWR reactor maintenance and inspection.
  • Lead field project delivery including technical direction, work coordination, and supervision of mixed teams (GE employees, contractors, and craft labor) at customer sites.
  • During non-outage periods, serve in training leadership roles at the San Jose Training Facility as needed.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline OR High School Diploma/Equivalent
  • 3 years Refuel Outage Activities (Nuclear Industry) OR 7 years Refuel Outage Activities (Nuclear Industry)
  • Qualified Manipulator Crane Operator (3+ outages)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to climb 10 flights of stairs twice per day
  • Ability to pass respirator fit test and physical
  • Ability to pass Fitness For Duty and site security requirements
  • Ability to work under high stress conditions
  • Ability to work in radiation-controlled areas
  • Ability to travel up to 70% domestically and internationally
  • Ability to work 12 hours/day, seven days/week
