Job Summary

  • Under the order of the Attending Physician, the Sr. Perfusionist provides patient care in the form of support services of extracorporeal circulation and/or oxygenation, myocardial and/or organ protection and preservation, blood component and drug/fluid administration.
  • The Sr. Perfusionist will provide coverage for West Valley UCLA Health System for primary clinical coverage and assist in maintaining protocols, equipment, and inventory.
  • This role may also include operation of devices such as adult IABP, VAS, ECMO and CPS, and will provide coverage at Ronald Reagan UCLA Westwood based on operational needs.

  • Operate heater, coolers, and cardioplegia delivery systems
  • Operate adult IABP, VAS, ECMO and CPS devices

  • Collaborate with Infection Prevention and POCT
  • Maintain protocols and equipment
  • Provide cardiac support services

Key Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree
  • CPR Certification
  • CCP (ABCP) within 24 months
  • 24 months adult experience
  • 6 months pediatric experience
  • Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry
  • Ability to lift, moves, pushes, and pulls heavy objects (60-350 lbs)
