Job Summary

  • You are responsible for leading crews in the assembly, installation, repair, removal and maintenance of traffic control devices and associated electrical equipment within the City of Ottawa.
  • Traffic Signal Installation & Field Programs is responsible for Traffic Signal assembly, installation, modification and maintenance, Traffic Control Room management of data and video equipment and data communications, Signal Timing engineering, Camera assembly, installation, modification and maintenance, and Re-lamping management.

Key Requirements

  • Completion of Electrician-Maintenance & Construction apprenticeship program of 9000 hours
  • Minimum 7 years related electrical installation and maintenance experience
  • At least 18 months experience with traffic control devices
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
  • Valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification as Electrician-Construction and Maintenance 309A
  • Must obtain IMSA Traffic Signal Field Technician Level II certification
  • Valid Ontario unrestricted AZ class driver’s licence
  • Forklift Operator Licence
  • Mobile Crane Operator 0-8 ton training certificate
  • Completion of required on-the-job safety training
