Job Summary

  • The NICU Occupational Therapist evaluates and provides direct patient care for babies in the NICU with neurological, musculoskeletal, genetic, neuromuscular, fine motor, sensorimotor, visual motor/visual perceptual and developmental delay disorders as well as traumatic injuries and swallowing disorders.
  • This person is responsible for overseeing developmental care of all babies in the NICU, staff and family education/training, referrals and consultations to outside agencies, documentation, participation in weekly NICU rounds, and facilitating the Developmental Care Committee.
  • The Occupational Therapist will deliver care with a team-orientation, an emphasis on good customer relations, sound clinical judgment and appropriate decision-making abilities that take into consideration evidenced based practice.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Pediatric and NICU experience
  • Current Texas occupational therapy license
  • CPR certification
