Job Summary

  • This role offers Service members valuable civilian work experience through the Military DoD SkillBridge program during their last 180 days of active duty.
  • The On Wing Support Test Technician will perform shipping, receiving, inspection, and testing of GE/CFM commercial engines at the Pittsburgh, PA facility.
  • Participants must strictly adhere to regulatory agency requirements and GE's FLIGHT DECK fundamentals while documenting all work in the site's ERP software.

Must-have

  • Active Military Personnel on last 180 days of service
  • Federal Aviation Administration Powerplant Mechanic certification
  • 1+ years of mechanical experience
  • Ability to work flexible shift patterns including nights
  • Adherence to Standard Work and technical references

Nice-to-have

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Previous commercial high-bypass turbofan engine testing experience
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP software
  • Knowledge of borescope inspection techniques
  • Experience operating fork trucks and overhead cranes

Key Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • FAA Powerplant Mechanic certification
  • U.S. Person status (Citizen, LPR, Asylee, or Refugee)
  • Last 180 days of military service
  • Authorization from unit commander
