Job Summary

  • The Protection Officer provides technical leadership and coordination support to ensure protection responses across Cabo Delgado and Nampula Provinces are strategic, coherent and aligned with international standards and national frameworks.
  • The role includes direct engagement with government authorities and partners delivering protection, legal, psychosocial and community-based services to vulnerable displaced and host populations.
  • The incumbent supports emergency response operations, conducts field missions, and ensures integration of age, gender and diversity principles, community-based protection, and accountability mechanisms in all protection activities.

  • Knowledge of international refugee and humanitarian law
  • Portuguese language proficiency
  • Experience engaging with government and humanitarian actors
  • Experience supporting emergency response operations
